In 2014, Justin Hemmes enlisted The Curators' Department Director Glenn Barkley to develop and oversee a project for the interiors of Merivale's WIP (Work in Progress) Bar. Their collaboration resulted in an commission of new work by Darwin-based pop artist Franck Gohier where the interior spaces were brought to life with the artist's distinctive and subversive pop artwork.
