art month 2015
Glenn Barkley was the Artistic Director the hugely successful festival Art Month Sydney 2015. Held over 24 days, more than 300 exhibitions & events featured over 200 artists in 100 galleries with over 95,000 visitors. Artists were at the heart of Art Month 2015 and the festival focused on the relationship between artists, their creative processes and the galleries that support them.
Some of the many highlights included the jam packed ‘Art at Night’ precinct events where thousands of art lovers took over the streets; Collectors’ Space an exhibition curated by Glenn Barkley which brought together painting, sculpture, ceramics, video and works on paper from five different private art collections; spending Saturday morning on the idiosyncratic artist tours led by Vanessa Berry, Noel McKenna and Garry Trinh; the Buy Art and Artcycle tours which took art lovers old and new on adventures across the city; the range of fantastic, standing-room only talks which covered diverse topics from public art to couples collecting to international art in an Australian context.
